5:23 "WE WOULD TURN OFF THE HEAT TO SAVE GAS. WE WOULD LET IT COOK BY ITS OWN HEAT. ANYTHING TO SAVE ANYTHING."

our wasteful culture is returning full-circle. once again we will do anything to save anything. not quite yet, but soon.

This looks like a take off of the rocket stove design, packaged and puffed up in price...I am not a sheet metal worker, but it seems that , the stoves could be made where they are being used. Critical feature would be the "fire brick", and I am wondering if hammer milled newspaper in clay( fired) would work as well as that "rare light weight clay"..In any event, I'll be up at the University asking a bunch of clay questions. There may be tent cities needing this technology here in the U.S..With the bag lady's medical expenses,Winter temps, progress will be slow for a while..Should be no problem to reverse engineer a more efficient Rocket Stove..and put out a free E Book ..Might even get "Tenn Andrew" to field test Cordially Nad:s1:

My guess is, a large portion of that price is in compensation for providing free stoves to people in poor countries. Labor and materials certainly wouldn't justify $100.

I see a wood problem in these stoves. If you have millions of people using these types of stoves to cook and heat with, wood will become a major source of contention. Paper simply doesn't work as well as wood. They may use a composite type of material in place of whole wood though, but thats just added expense.
